Process costing and mapping workshop is designed to enable local authority staff to assign costs to process elements, and model the effects of process changes, thereby providing a cost basis for their proposed BPI project or business case preparation.  During the day delegates are able to practise the techniques, and understand the implications through exercise and participation. 

This FREE one day overview workshop, delivered by Value Adding is designed to be as interactive and practical as possible in the time available. An expert practitioner, experienced in the application of Process Costing and Mapping in a Local Authority environment, will deliver the workshop which will introduce delegates to some of the key concepts such as Activity Based Costing (ABC), demonstrating how it fits within transformation or improvement journey within the authority and how it should be applied and the potential resource required.

Who should attend?
This one day introductory course is designed for those who are about to embark on a business process transformation or improvement project and need to quantify potential efficiency savings and track the benefits of any change including BPI / BPR / Lean or Transformation project, programme or initiative team members and stakeholders.

What are the learning outcomes?
As a result of attending this workshop delegates will understand:

At the end of the one-day course you will be able to:
>  Explain how and when to use rough-cut ABC as part of a wider 
     business process improvement (BPI) programme, as an aid
     to: 
      -  identifying the cost of wasteful activities within a process;
      -  evaluate the potential savings as a result of BPI to inform the
         business case;
>  Produce a comprehensive plan prior to undertaking a rough-cut
     activity based costing project;
>  Explain the steps to undertake rough-cut activity based costing
    as part of a BPI project.
>  Identify the skills required within the team undertaking rough-cut
    ABC.
