Supplier Risk Audit

Supplier Risk Audit

There is an increasingly recognised risk in the current economic climate of local authorities struggling, or even failing, to meet their mandatory service obligations due to interruption of the supply chain caused by suppliers' business failure.

Particular concern within our partnership focuses on the provision of residential care, an area thought to be at heightened financial risk due to the 'credit crunch'.

Improvement East has, therefore, commissioned data analysts Spikes Cavell to undertake a regional supplier risk analysis with county and unitary authorities.

The project, which is attracting DCLG interest, will lead to identification of threats in supply chains critical to the delivery of high risk/high impact local authority services.  This will enhance management of the local authority supply chain and enable more critical consideration and response to the risks to business continuity posed by the current recession.
