Housing Review at East Cambridgeshire District Council
A Review of temporary accommodation provision within the district was carried out during August 2012. This was in response to a growth in increase in the use of bed and breakfast accommodation for homeless families in the last six months.
The report provides an overview of the temporary accommodation arrangements in East Cambridgeshire including a summary of current and predicted future demands on the service; current temporary accommodation provision and costs; options for future provision and associated costs.
The review identified a number of recommendations with regard to temporary accommodation. At the Chief Executive’s request the Talent Bank associate is now working on implementing these at the council.
This review has provided us with an effective way to move forward with our temporary accommodation provision, which has the potential not only to save money but provide better services for our residents.
John Hill, Chief Executive - East Cambridgeshire District Council
