BPI and Transformation: Accelerating and Enabling Skills Development and Transfer
As part of our commitment to support Business Process Improvement (BPI) and Transformation and grow BPI and transformation capacity in the East of England, we have put together a skills development programme which is available to all authorities and fire and rescue partners in the region.
The focus of the offering is on 3 sets of BPI and transformation skills, deliverd through workshops that are
, FREE OF CHARGE at point of delivery:
- Costing and Process Mapping
- Lean and Systems Thinking
- Programme Management

The main mechanism for delivery will be through small (15 people maximum) workshops delivered by carefully selected and evaluated, external subject matter experts, appointed as a result of our recent mini tenders. They will cover theory as well as include practical examples and discussions in the context of what delegates are doing in their authorities. For full list of workshops click here
The workshops are available through two channels:
- Public venue workshops: These will be delivered at venues in accessible locations throughout the region and are open to all our authorities. See our events for details of forthcoming workshops.
- On-site workshops: We are also offering you the option of bringing the experts direct to your authority so that the skills are targeted at specific projects and programme. The on-site offer also allows for up to 5 days post-workshop support from the external supplier. All FREE OF CHARGE.

The Essex Procurement Hub
A group of local authorities in Essex joined together to form a shared services hub for procurement thereby vastly reducing duplication of effort between member authorities and enabling procurement arrangements arrived at for one authority.
