Children's Services
Improvement East supports local authorities to improve their services for children in a number of ways. We are supporting the following projects during 2010/11:
Eastern Safeguarding Project
This project aims to:
- to underpin Improvement East's ambition for all authorities in the East of England to be rated at least 'good' for Children's Services
- to accelerate progress across the region in assuring 'Laming safe' outcomes for children
- to increase excellence in service provision across all local authorities in the Children's Services element of the Comprehensive Area Assessments (CAA).
The project has a number of workstreams covering issues such as; performance improvement and challenge; and quality assurance and the children's workforce. Progress on the project to date is available here and further information about the 2010/11 activity will be available here soon.

Other Children's Services projects
During 2009/10, the '14-19 Transition' project was completed. An evaluation for this project is available.
Additionally, 10 local authorities from across the region produced case studies detailing how they achieved efficiency savings in their children's services. They can be downloaded below.
